Nicole Kidman won an Emmy Award for her performance in the miniseries Big Little Lies. The awards ceremony took place on Sunday evening. The actress came to the ceremony in a luxurious scarlet dress from Calvin Klein.
From the stage, Kidman thanked her husband Keith Urban and two daughters: “I have two little girls, Sunday and Faith, and my dear Keith,” without saying anything about the two adopted children she once adopted with her first husband, Tom Cruise. Recall that Connor and Isabella Jane were adopted by the Cruise-Kidman family when the parents themselves were barely twenty.
Fans of the star suspect that Kidman did not mention the children because of the ban associated with the Church of Scientology, the congregation of which was an actress during the marriage with Cruise. The organization calls it an overwhelming personality (a term denoting a person who casts doubt on the church’s postulates) and forbids parishioners from any contact with Nicole.
Three years ago, adopted children from their first marriage, Connor and Isabella Cruz, said in interviews that they became close to Kidman after she married Keith Urban. The fact that the star did not mention the children on the Emmy may indicate a deterioration in their relationship lately.
