A terrible explosion in the port of Beirut destroyed part of the city and killed dozens of people. American celebrities could not stay away from the tragedy and express condolences on their pages in social networks, writes Spletnik.
Yesterday a terrible explosion took place in the Lebanese capital Beirut. The tragedy took place in the port of the city. According to the authorities, at one of the port's warehouses there were 2750 tons of confiscated ammonium nitrate. To avoid theft of the substance, the port officials decided to seal up small holes through which intruders could enter the warehouse. Detonation occurred during welding.
The shock wave destroyed several buildings near the port. At the moment, more than 100 deaths have been reported.
The tragedy left few people indifferent - many countries have already offered their help to Lebanon. The network is also actively discussing what happened and expressing condolences to the relatives of the victims.
