“I have had three strokes. I had a heart attack. My doctors said that I had five to ten minutes [before death], ”the singer admitted in an interview for the documentary.
Lovato clarified that the overdose led to brain damage.
“I am still struggling with the consequences of the damage,” AP quotes her. - I don't drive because I have blind spots. For a long time, it was hard for me to read. It was a big deal when I was able to read the book. It happened about two months later [after the incident], because before that my vision was very blurry. "
Lovato added that the long-term consequences "still remind her of what could happen if she ever finds herself in a dark place again."
It became known about Demi Lovato's hospitalization as a result of an overdose in July 2018: doctors who arrived at the singer's house in Los Angeles on an emergency call found her unconscious. As the media reported then, Lovato took a large dose of drugs. Soon, already in the hospital, the artist regained consciousness thanks to the help of doctors.

Until 2018, Demi completely ignored illegal substances and alcohol for six years, under the supervision of the doctors of the rehabilitation center. But in April or May she had a breakdown.
