According to the British newspaper The Daily Mail, this situation occurred a few years ago when the monarch stopped at her official residence in Edinburgh - Holyrood Palace. Elizabeth II could not fall asleep due to the fact that behind the next wall, the dressmakers Peggy Hot and May Prentice found out very loudly about her relationship.
The queen, of course, could be indignant and reprimand both assistants, but did not do this. In order not to spoil relations with anyone, she simply decided to spend the night in the servants' room.
“No one could believe their eyes when the queen came down in her nightgown with a blanket in her hands. She sat down on the couch and simply said: “I need to get some rest,” one of the former colleagues of Miss Hot, who passed away earlier this year at the age of 89, told the publication.
Insiders said that Elizabeth II was always very attached to Peggy. Only therefore the titled person did not begin to conflict with the subordinate.
