A wooden statue of the first lady of the USA, Melania Trump, installed near the Slovenian city of Sevnitsa, was burned by unknown people, reports Spletnik.
A statue appeared a year ago in honor of the 50-year-old Melania Trump near Sevnitsa, her native city, did not last long - the other day a wooden sculpture burned to the ground. It happened on US Independence Day, July 4th.
Local police promised the American artist Brad Downey, who owns the idea of sculpture, to investigate and find out who did it.
“I want to know why they did this,” he said.
According to him, the idea of the statue was to emphasize the controversial immigration policy of Donald Trump, at the same time making it clear that Melania herself is an immigrant.

The author of the wooden statue was the Slovenian sculptor Ales Zupevts - he created it using a chainsaw.
Locals did not like his work - they criticized and ridiculed the sculpture, comparing it with the cartoon character Smurfetta.
Zupevts portrayed Melania in a dress from Ralph Lauren - the very one in which she was present at the inauguration of her husband Donald Trump.
By the way, not only “wooden Melania” got it, but also the sculpture of her husband: at the beginning of the year his statue was dealt with in Slovenia in the same way.
