How much are you willing to pay to have a robot that can iron and fold things in your wardrobe? California-based startup FoldiMate hopes for an answer: “About $ 1000,” writes CNBC.
The company has created a machine for home use that can transform an ordinary “mountain” or “snowdrift”, as the housewives call it, formed after washing, into an elegant stack of ironed and wonderful smelling clothes. For the first time, the project was presented 1,5 years ago, during which time the company raised $ 3 million for implementation - however, they plan to release the robot on the market no earlier than 2019. Price expected: $ 980
The robot will iron and fold shirts, blouses and pants of various sizes - from a five-year-old child to an adult XXL, and will cope with standard towels and pillowcases. But small things, such as things for a newborn, socks and underwear will have to continue to fold independently, this also applies to large clothes (sweatshirts or sheets).
As planned by the manufacturer, the task of smoothing over with steam, carefully folded and processed with a flavoring stack of 20-40 things, takes the entire 2-4 minutes from the machine. The product will be installed next to the washing machine and is intended for use in homes or apartments.
