"Do not be a bridesmaid"
I often notice that people stare at me. I forget about my tattoos and in such moments I think: “Why do they look at me so intently?”.
Many people ask me about facial tattoos. In my opinion, many consider tattoos on the face or neck to be something extreme. People often criticize me, they say that I look like a hooligan, that I bully others with my appearance, or simply that this is somehow too much. My family also does not approve of my choice.
My father remarried, and I already had a huge tattoo on my chest, and he told me that I could not be a bridesmaid at a wedding. But now he is more comfortable with this, since the creation of tattoos has become my job. I even tattooed him myself!
It was rather difficult because I saw that it hurt him. In the end, I asked him to write the word "dad" in his own handwriting, and then he filled this word for me.
"I thought I was cursed."
I applied my first tattoo when I was 18 years old. In the area of the ankle appeared the name of my best friend. And he put on my skin my name. Now, I think about 60% of my body is covered with tattoos.
The first tattoo on my face appeared when I was 24 of the year and I was just beginning to study in the salon. The idea was that it was difficult for me to get a “normal” job and I would have no choice but to master the skills of a tattoo artist.
Above my brow appeared the word "cursed." I used to be very critical of myself. I thought that if something bad happened in my life, then it was my fault, and I mentally tortured myself for it.
Later, a rose appeared on my cheek - a symbol of love and beauty, and on the other side of my face - leaves, which for me symbolize a new stage of life.
"Entirely plunged"
Before I started tattooing, I lived in an apartment on the second floor, right above the pub. I drank a lot and went to parties. In order to get into the apartment, one had to go through the pub, and everyone said: “Wait, have a drink with us!” - and I often did this. When I decided to do tattoos, I stopped drinking for half a year, and since then my life has become much better. I am completely immersed in my new business, left work and became an apprentice in a tattoo parlor.
At first, in this profession there is practically no income. But now my boss says that I am one of the most busy young tattoo artists he has ever seen.
The main thing is to be able to handle clients. They come here not only for the sake of tattoos, but also because of the atmosphere in the cabin, and you should like them.
Now I earn enough. The more experience you have, the more you earn and you can even increase the prices for your work. My payment is hourly. Half of the money goes to me, half to the salon. It's as if I just rented a chair there for work.
In order to be a tattoo artist, you need to get a license. Officially, I work for myself.
"I help those who are in pain."
I adore tattoos. It never gets boring: you have to invent something new all the time, learn something new, meet new people.
It is necessary to talk with people all the time, and when it hurts them, they open their soul, as it were, and start talking about problems in their lives. The main thing that people feel comfortable. Some are very nervous, and I help them relax. Some clients tell me heartbreaking stories about their lives, and others about their happiness. This allows you to better understand what is important in life and what is not. You start to value your own life more, and now I look at things very positively.
I often work with people who do not like their own body: some have stretch marks after childbirth, others have scars, as they themselves inflicted wounds during depression. But if a beautiful picture appears on the part of the body that you don’t like, people become happier and more self-confident.
"Confidence"
In childhood I was very shy and quiet. The art of tattooing gave me a lot more confidence.
I started working as a model in 19 years, and everything went so well that it was hard to believe. I starred in a music video, my photos were published in the magazine Skin Deep.
In this kind of work, you attract a lot of attention to yourself, and many people criticize you, others praise you, and I just took it easy.
Tattoos on my face make me unique. And even when you grow old and wrinkles appear, tattoos make your skin a little more beautiful.
This is a great hobby: to collect images on your own skin. When you look at them, you remember when they were applied, where exactly and what they mean.
