Today, the fashion industry is no surprise, but recycled plastic clothing is already becoming a trend. Famous brand Girlfriend collective decided to launch a limited collection of sportswear from plastic bottles.
The company told about it on the page in Facebook.
In a new eco-collection Girlfriend collective included sports leggings and tops in three different colors. According to the manufacturers, for each pair of T-shirts there is an 25 plastic bottle assembled in Taiwan. They recycle 55% of the total amount of garbage. While, for example, in the USA this indicator reaches only 35%.
The sale of a new collection of recycled plastic starts on June 28. The price for a pair of sports leggings and tops will range from $ 20.
Clothing can be made not only on the basis of natural fibers, but also from other materials that are completely unusual for the average person, for example, plastic. Of course, recycled plastic - and turned into polyester.
How many plastic bottles do we use and throw away during the year? It is even difficult to count. All of these plastic bottles from olive oil or mineral water are made of polyethylene terephthalate (abbreviated as PET).
The scope of this polyester in the world is distributed like this: about 70% of plastic goes to the production of filaments and fibers. This is recycled plastic, commonly referred to as recycled polyester (recycled polyester). And this is possible thanks to the ability of this popular type of plastic to be easily recyclable and return to the consumer in a completely new form. For example, plastic from a bottle through recycle-process can be returned to us in the form of brand clothes.
