Ukrainian Alexander Kutas from the Dnieper confined to a wheelchair from birth. But the 23-year-old girl always had a place to become a model. About how vitality and desire for the cherished goal made Alexander the first model in a wheelchair, tells Today.

The first show at Alexandra took place quite recently. She took part in the Kiev fashion show. Previously, such shows, with the participation of the wheelchair in the country did not practice.
Before that, Alexandra had been shot as a model for almost two years. After her debut on the podium, they began to write about her in the world press.
“If before I was filming for magazines only as a model, then this show is my victory, to which I went for two whole years. I dreamed of not just riding the podium in a stroller, but arranging an art performance - doing something that no one else had done before. We discussed the details with the designer for a long time, and I was very worried that we did not have enough time to properly prepare, ”says Kutas.
The show was top notch, all involved assistants did their job perfectly well. A wheelchair Alexandra and not useful.
During the show, Alexander on the throne was carried to the podium by four young men.
“I was wearing a dress with a very long train that covered the entire catwalk. During our procession, I gradually pulled up the train, shortening it. This symbolized the time that is irrevocably gone. Once the fabric got a little tangled, but no one noticed, ”the girl shares her impressions.
The desire to become a professional model came to Alexandra five years ago, and she began to dream about the catwalk after the first photo session.
“I liked the shooting process itself, there was a sense of creativity and creativity. In addition, I learned that there is not a single model in the world chained to a stroller and thought - why shouldn't I become the first, ”says Kutas.
Two years ago, Alexander was invited to Rome, on Italian Fashion Week. The girl sent her portfolio, but there were problems with the visa, which could not be resolved as soon as possible. The trip fell through.
“But then I thought that if they already started inviting me to international shows, why not try to make a unique project in Ukraine? After some time, I found out that I have a colleague in the United States, she starred in shows of famous brands. And around the world there will be no more than five of us like that, ”says Alexandra.
In addition to the professional career of the model, Alexandra devotes time and projects with children. Now she is working with the Dnepr City Hall on a project that aims to reveal the talents of children with disabilities.
“We will shoot videos with talented children who live in boarding schools. I want to draw public attention to such children, ”Alexandra told about the new project.
The experience of many Western models shows that limited opportunities are not a reason to abandon the model’s career.
