Zigzags of fate of Tatyana Drubich: why the star of the 80s stopped acting in films

Her entire film career is a chain of fortunate coincidences and fateful coincidences. She herself never dreamed of an acting career and even after, thanks to the director Sergey Soloviev, she became one of the most popular movie stars of the 1980s, she still did not consider herself an actress. Her take-off was swift, and then just as suddenly, she disappeared from the screens. What one of the most mysterious Russian actresses is doing today, and what she calls the main business of her life - tells "Culturology".
Nobody seems to know practically anything about her except herself. Even regarding her age, there were different versions: for a long time it was indicated in various sources that she was born in 1959, while the actress herself did not admit that in fact the year of her birth was 1960. But even knowing the exact date, looking at Tatyana Drubich, it is very difficult to believe that this year she will celebrate her 60th birthday.
For the first time, Tatyana Drubich got to the set at age 11 - she got one of the roles in Inna Tumanyan's film "Fifteenth Spring." And 2 years later a fateful meeting took place that determined Tatyana’s future life: director Sergei Solovyov chose her from hundreds of other schoolgirls to play the main role in his film “One Hundred Days After Childhood.” True, at first she did not make any impression on him: the girl was sitting in the corner, not interested in what was happening, and then she bluntly stated that she was not burning with the desire to act. However, the whole crew liked it, and the director succumbed to persuasion.
And on the set there was some kind of magic that none of them could explain. Soloviev later said: “We started shooting from the most difficult scene. But then it suddenly darkened, then it poured rain. Everyone ran on the buses, and Tanya and I were left alone at the scenery of the bathhouse. And we sat for an hour and a half, probably. They sat and didn’t actually say anything to each other, but when the rain ended and we left, I had a feeling that we had known each other for a hundred years, that she was a very close person to me, whom I understand very well. I realized that Tanya has a huge relationship with me right now. I did not yet know and did not suspect that this sensation would last almost a lifetime. ” Soloviev considered her main talent the lack of falsehood, which compensated for the lack of acting experience and education. And this feature of the young actress was appreciated by both viewers and critics. For this work, Tatyana Drubich was awarded the Silver Bear Prize at the Berlin Film Festival.

Since then, Solovyov’s films were simply impossible to imagine without Drubich. Nevertheless, she herself continued to doubt the choice of the future path: “I’ve been on the set since I was 12 years old, and at the same time I never wanted to be an actress - such a paradox! I still don’t know: I was lucky or not lucky. And Solovyov, when he saw that I doubt where to go after school, he advised me to get the profession of a doctor ... ” Tatyana graduated from the Medical Dental Institute. N. Semashko became an endocrinologist. For several years she worked in a Moscow polyclinic, but at the same time she continued to act in films, and not only with Soloviev.
When they met, she was 13 years old, and he was 28, he was married and raised a son. But very soon the director realized that this girl became for him more than a muse. After 9 years, they got married, but this marriage lasted only 6 years. But their film novel lasted almost their whole life - the connection that Soloviev felt during the filming of their first joint film was even more lasting than love. Later Tatyana admitted that her husband had a huge impact on her formation, not only as an actress, but also as an individual - she saw a lot of things in life through his eyes.
Their daughter Anna claims that their parents divorced, but actually never parted: “I was five years old when they filed for a divorce, but I did not notice this: as before, I was with my mother and father. Dangled around the set or rested when one or the other had free time. As far as I can remember, they always loved each other, respected and understood. And this is a rarity in a long common life. You see, in our family we have such relations: we are all close people, but at the same time no one is loading others, it is not stopping them from living ... ”
In raising their daughters, both Drubich and Soloviev adhered to the main principle: not to set global tasks for her and provide freedom of choice. Anna Solovieva graduated from the Higher School of Music in Munich and became a composer. She wrote music for several of her father's films. In 2013, Anna moved to America, where she continues to write music for films. Later Tatyana Drubich had another daughter - Maria. The actress never called the name of her father.
1987 became a landmark year for Tatyana Drubich. At that time, Soloviev was still her husband and persuaded his wife to play a major role in his film Assa, and although she agreed, she could not think of anything else on the set, except that she missed receptions in the clinic because of this, and I was very afraid that she would be fired. In the same year, at the same time as Assa, Stanislav Govorukhin filmed a detective story based on the work of Agatha Christie, who was later called the first Soviet thriller, on the Crimean coast, and Drubich also played a major role there. These two works brought her incredible popularity, and the film "Assa" became a cult for young people of the late 1980s.
But even after this success, Drubich continued to call herself "an actress by misunderstanding." Soloviev really revealed her acting potential and lit her star, but other directors recognized her talent: Tatyana starred with Pavel Chukhrai, Roman Balayan, Ivan Dykhovichny, Eldar Ryazanov. When Ryazanov was shooting Drubich in the film “Hello, duralei!”, He admired her naturalness, calmness and attentiveness. The director believed that her medical education gave her significant advantages: she accurately understood the physical and mental state of her colleagues in one appearance, and at the same time instantly determined the nature and the necessary approach to him.

Later Tatyana Drubich tried her hand in other activities: in the 1990s. she opened the assembly hall night club, but it did not last long. After that, Drubich headed the Moscow representative office of a German medical company, and then founded her own pharmacological company in Germany. In the 2000s she again appeared on the screens in the films “About Love”, “2-Assa-2”, “Anna Karenina”, “The Last Tale of Rita”. After 2011, she did not act in film. Nowadays, Tatyana Drubich is actively involved in charity work: she collaborates with Chulpan Khamatova, who helps children with leukemia, is the co-chairman of the board of trustees of the Moscow charity hospice fund Vera.
Most of all, Drubich does not like to be asked questions about her personal life and about who she considers herself to be, an actress, a doctor, a business woman, or someone else.
“It's like asking: which leg is your main - left or right? Which can you refuse? For a long time I overlooked the question: what is more important for me ... Cinema and medicine gave me such a volume of life that would not be available in the event of a definite choice ... No need to fuss. And climb out of your skin, building a career. You have to choose your favorite business and deal with it with ease ... I consider the most valuable medical education. It can replace acting and almost any other, if it comes to understanding a person, the motives of his actions, reactions. But most importantly, it gives a different - full-fledged - perception of life. After all, nothing is so manifest, does not clarify life ... like death. And this is a medical fact, ”says Tatyana.
