A resident of West Point (Davis County, Utah) is charged with attempting to poison her husband and children.
According to court documents, 33-year-old Chandra Vayu Stevens Reed poisoned the family with the usual medicine - eye drops, secretly adding the solution to drinks. KSL.
Dullen Tubbs, the woman’s husband, “had been sick for several months” with symptoms that included headaches, nausea, blurred vision and diarrhea. Tubbs also lost weight during this time.
On August 1, Tubbs did not go to work and "searched his house to find the cause of his strange illness." As a result, he found in the black bag with a zipper numerous empty bottles from under eye drops.
Tubbs then investigated the side effects of the drug and found that they correspond to his symptoms.
Investigators later found empty boxes, 11 empty bottles and six unopened boxes of eye drops in the 10 house. When Tubbs ran into Reed, she told him: "It was not only for you, it was for someone else."
Tubbs told the police that he was worried about his two children, who were also poisoned by eye drops, according to court documents.
“He stated that the children changed their behavior dramatically in a short period of time. He claims that the children are more irritable than before, ”the documents say.
The court documents do not indicate the reason why Reed wanted to poison the family. Her trial is scheduled for October 30.
