Two years ago, an 22-year-old girl from Los Angeles almost died when she was swimming in the sea at high tide. Due to the weight in kilograms 130 Dominic Montgomery could not get out of the water, reaching the rocks.
“I thought I would die, I was scared. It was lucky that the tide ended and the water began to leave, ”Dominique told the publication The Sun. After this incident, the girl completely revised her life.
“If I can't get out of the water on my own, what am I doing with my own life?”
As Dominique admits, after this incident, there was an acute feeling of shame and disappointment in herself, an understanding of what poor physical shape she was in. Previously, Montgomery did not think about nutrition and being overweight: “I could eat a burrito the size of my head, I ate 5000 calories a day, of which 1000 could be one dessert!”. But now everything has changed.
First, Dominique added long walks to her daily routine, when she began to lose weight - she took up jogging and strength training. I closely monitored the diet, trying to reduce the usual huge portions to "regular".
For a year and a half, she dropped the kilogram 63. True, such a weight loss has a drawback - even at a young age, the skin could not quickly pull itself up, and folds of excess skin formed on the stomach.
Dominic has created a campaign on a charity resource and is raising money for plastic surgery (about 15 thousand dollars).
“Now I have new goals,” the girl admits. “I want to tell people how important it is to pay attention to being overweight and move on to a healthy lifestyle.”
