In California in the San Bernardino Mountains, an 26-year-old woman flew off a highway into a ravine, falling to 200-meter depth, writes Fox News.
Patrol officer Juan Quintero said that the accident happened near 17: 45 on Highway 18. According to him, the woman made a sharp turn to the left and flew off the highway.
She was able to call for help, but could not send the coordinates of her exact location. The patrol was able to fix the phone and find its approximate location.
Rescuers had to go down the 152-meter rope to locate the woman and take her to the hospital.
Fire Chief Bob Evans was surprised that after falling from such a height, the woman was still alive.
“I don’t know what the doctors' prognosis will be, she loses consciousness and feels pain in her back,” he said.
Evans also noted that looking for a woman in a dense forest was tantamount to searching for "needles in a haystack."
