A woman who had been in a vegetative state for nearly the last 10 years after nearly drowning had a baby last month. This led to an investigation into the rape of a patient at the Hacienda HealthCare Nursing Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
The baby was born December 29 and feels good. A source familiar with the situation said that "none of the hospital staff knew that she was pregnant until the patient gave birth," writes Fox News.
“I was told that she was moaning. And they didn't know what was wrong with her, ”the source said.
He added that the patient needs constant care, so many people have access to her room.
After the incident, the institution changed the protocol of the work of employees. According to the source, male employees who need to enter the women's ward should go there accompanied by a female colleague.
Hacienda HealthCare declined to comment specifically on this situation, but said that it had been operating for more than 50 for years and “has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality, specialized care to its patients.”
