In the Sverdlovsk region, a woman hid her newborn daughter from everyone for six months and secretly waited for her death, reports Newspaper.ru.
From the very birth, the child lived in a bag in the closet, eating water, which was periodically given by the unfortunate mother. Only the 13-year-old son of the cruel parent dared to feed the baby - the rest of the time he and his three-year-old sister were silent about the girl, as the mother threatened them with violence. Now the woman is undergoing medical examination - she could not explain to the police why she wanted to kill her daughter.
The Investigative Committee of the Sverdlovsk Region opened a criminal case under the article "Torture" against a woman who had starved her newborn daughter for six months. This was reported in the regional department.
The child, who was in a state of severe exhaustion, was found by the friends of a 37-year-old single mother from the city of Karpinsk - the women came to her at a feast, during which they heard sounds coming from the closet. Opening it, they saw a bag with a barely living baby.
“They were already drunk, they started crying, filming this baby, asking the mother how, why, what is the child for. They took the baby immediately to their home. The next day, both an ambulance and the police were called. When the ambulance arrived, the doctors asked: "Weren't you afraid that your child will die in a day?" But they were so shocked that they didn't even think about it, ”a friend of the cruel mother told reporters.
Now the child is in serious condition under the supervision of doctors in the hospital. According to the preliminary conclusion of the doctors, the girl has third degree malnutrition, as well as suspicion of other serious diseases.
In addition to the emaciated baby, two children also lived with the woman - a 13-year-old boy and a three-year-old daughter. Both knew about the child, but the mother categorically forbade anyone to tell about him.
“The boy was silent, and the girl in the kindergarten said that they had a doll,“ as if they were alive, their name was Polina. ” But no one paid any attention: they thought the girl was small, fantasizing, ”a family friend recalls with horror.
According to another local resident, the woman originally planned to kill the girl, but could not, and decided to wait for her death, allowing her to drink only water. “The child was fed by the eldest son,” the woman says. “My mother, as I understand it, threatened not to tell anyone about her.”

All local law enforcement agencies are investigating the circumstances of the horrific case. To begin with, the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs intends to establish reliably whether the girl is really the daughter of a cruel parent - as it turned out, during pregnancy, the woman was not registered in any antenatal clinic and gave birth to a child on her own six months ago. She also did not deal with registration of the birth certificate. The woman herself has already gone for a medical examination, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
“The woman was taken to the hospital for examination for her psychological state, as she still cannot clearly explain why she acted so cruelly with her own daughter. Police officers are working on various versions of what happened, including postpartum depression and the shock of the fact that she was left alone with three minor children in her arms, ”the agency informs about preliminary data.
The police have already managed to communicate with friends of the unfortunate mother, who characterized her extremely positively - according to them, she never abused alcohol, did not use drugs and, in general, exemplarily looked after two children born of different fathers. She broke up with her last roommate quite recently, neighbors say.
“We lived in the neighborhood for 40 years. <…> The family is normal, prosperous, non-drinking. Nothing bad can be said about them. Her parents are pensioners, but they still work and help the children. We bought her an apartment. She broke up with her husband, but here everything is most likely because of her husband, he terrorized her, ”says one of the local residents.
However, neither the police nor the guardianship authorities received any complaints from the woman. She regularly came to work every day and took the children to school and kindergarten. As it turned out, the last six months at this time in a locked apartment lay an unattended baby.
“The woman took the older child to school in the morning, the younger to the kindergarten, and then went to work in a commercial enterprise, where she works as an economist, and left the baby unattended,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
On the fact of the incident, police officers opened a criminal case against a resident of Karpinsk under the article "Failure to fulfill the duties of raising a minor child." Together with the case initiated in the Investigative Committee, it is under the control of the prosecutor's office.

"In the course of supervisory measures, the prosecutor's office will assess the compliance with the requirements of federal legislation on the protection of the rights of minors, as well as on the protection of the life and health of children," the prosecutor's office reported.
Meanwhile, the grandmother will be in charge of the woman's older children. The eldest child is now being assisted by specialists, said Anna Kuznetsova, Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in the Russian Federation. The Ombudsman plans to tackle the issue of transporting the injured baby to Moscow.
“I talked with a colleague in the region, offered to transfer the girl to Moscow, but for now a comprehensive medical examination is needed to assess her state of health.
