A resident of Kemerovo stole a newborn boy from the maternity hospital in Leninsk-Kuznetsk, but she could not get far with the child. This was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.
The woman was stopped by the father of the child, who came to the hospital to visit his wife. He saw an unknown person with a baby in his arms wrapped in a large jacket, caught up with her, took his son away and returned to the hospital, writes Lenta.ru report with reference to tass.
The kidnapper managed to escape, but the police later detained her. It was reported that the woman’s motives were unknown, and a criminal case was instituted against her.

The next day, it turned out that a few months ago a woman had lied to her husband that she was pregnant. This information was provided by the Investigative Committee for the region, said Lenta.ru report.
According to investigators, the 41-year-old math teacher came to Kemerovo from another city. Having informed her husband about the birth of her son by phone, she entered the maternity ward and stole another's baby from there.
She was detained at the Leninsk-Kuznetskiy bus station when she had already returned to her city. The woman admitted that she had lied to her husband about pregnancy several months ago.
Investigators are checking and plan to conduct a psychological and psychiatric examination. The teacher was charged with part 2 of article 126 of the Criminal Code ("Abduction of a deliberately minor").
