It started back in 2015, when we were vacationing in the Austrian Alps. While my husband was skiing, I walked in the mountains and forests. Yes, I walked so well that one day I got lost. Literally.
Wandering along the paths between snow-covered fir trees, photographing everything in a row (as usual), at some point I realized that I had already seen these suspiciously familiar Christmas trees somewhere, which means I was walking in circles. The situation for a person with well-developed topographic cretinism is downright awful.
There is not a soul around, and I am alone in the middle of the forest and snowdrifts. I even started to panic, for a moment already imagining how many days they would accidentally find my dank little body, but then changed my mind.

Thinking about it, I realized that if I walk in a circle, somewhere there must be a path that led me to it. Unfortunately, it began to snow. Carefully looking around, I went in the opposite direction, and, lo and behold, a few minutes later I found that ill-fated path hiding behind a snowdrift.
Still not believing that I got off so easily and wouldn't have to starve, I almost ran along it, and when I saw the town below and realized that I had left the “vicious circle”, I felt myself on top of the world! I am a winner! How little a person needs to be happy - just to wake up!
After that incident, my then-future husband and I decided to share access to our locations with each other (this is easily done in the basic Find My application on iPhones, I don’t know about other phones).
Now I can at any time find out exactly where my husband goes and whether he will come home soon. This is convenient: I can do some of my girly business or prepare a surprise for him without fear that he will return at the most inopportune moment.
