38-year-old Alena Verdi, who worked as a plastic surgeon without special education, who was nicknamed “Doctor Frankenstein” by the media, died on Monday night, June 15, in the clinic of Krasnodar, without regaining consciousness. “In connection with the death of a 38-year-old woman, a pre-investigation check has been launched,” the SKR regional department said.
June 5, Verdi fell into a coma. She was connected to a ventilator.
As a source in law enforcement agencies told Lente.ru, at the moment, the investigation believes that the suicide attempt led to the death of the woman. But other versions are also checked.
Only one thing is known for certain: on June 1, 2020, Alena Verdi was taken to the intensive care unit from the apartment, which she identified as a place of house arrest. The exact causes of her death have not yet been established.

From March 2015 to October 2017, Verdi performed plastic surgery in a private medical clinic in Krasnodar and at her place of residence. As a result of her actions, seven patients were mutilated.
She was charged under paragraph “c” of the second part of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“The provision of medical services that do not meet the safety requirements of life and health to consumers, which caused serious harm to health”). Investigators planned to send Verdi's criminal case to court in the near future.
