In his new interview to the publication Hollywood Reporter George Clooney spoke about his, no doubt worthy of respect act. It turns out that the actor had placed in one of his houses a refugee from Iraq, who was fleeing from militants of the Islamic State (ISIL) and was nearly killed.
The young man lives in the actor's mansion, located in Augusta, Kentucky. He is currently studying at the University of Chicago. The story of the salvation of a young man - not for the faint of heart. The guy went to study in a bus to one of the Iraqi cities, when the vehicle was captured by the militants. Both drivers were shot, the terrorists threatened to put a bullet in everyone who says he wants to go to college. The young man managed to survive and get to the United States. Clooney's family was moved by his thirst for knowledge and decided to help with learning and living.
The guy belongs to the Kurdish ethnic group of the Yezidis. Many members of this group were forced to leave their cities and homes due to terrorist attacks. The UN has characterized the hunt of ISIS for Yezidis as genocide: they are tortured, killed, sold into slavery.
It is known that Amal and George Clooney promised to donate more than 2 million dollars for the construction of schools and the purchase of equipment for classes in Lebanon, intended for children of refugees from Syria. The problem attracted the attention of the whole world, and many famous actors systematically participate in actions and donate to refugees from Syria and Iraq: among them are such stars as Sharon Stone, Ozzy Osborne, Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, Liam Neeson.
