The "Pink Star" diamond was bought by a Hong Kong company that specializes in trading in precious stones.
The previous record was held by the Blue Oppenheimer diamond; last year it was sold for $ 57 million.
The stone was found in the 1999 year, initially its weight was 132,5 carats. It was cut by an American company. Steinmetz diamonds, the work lasted about 2 years. As a result, the stone acquired an oval shape.
