Hello, my name is Nadia Bucket, I am from the USA. I am writing this request for help on behalf of my friend in high school Lada (Gladys), who is half Cuban, half Ukrainian. She now lives in Cuba.
Moving from cold Ukraine to sunny Cuba, where her father lives, was a girl's childhood dream. At school, Gladys was beaten for being different from the others - a very poor child, and even a black one. By the time she was thirty, she was able to fulfill her dream and moved to Cuba with her mother, husband and young son, hoping for a better life. But almost immediately she regretted this decision.
In Kiev, in Ukraine, Lada and Mom had an apartment that they had to sell in order to move and transport things. My father did not really help to adapt to the new life in the country and its culture. She was shocked by a lot of things! The average salary in Ukraine is 100 dollars per month (she had a public service that does not pay much, but gives stability and benefits), but in Cuba the average salary is only 20 dollars per month. And the products are too expensive for the average person, or there is a shortage.
Gladys started a photo business in Santiago de Cuba, but it was not particularly successful. Her mom's Ukrainian pension helped them survive - only $ 45, but the bank card expired last March. Since then, Gladys, her 67-year-old mother and 3-year-old son have been starving. The husband left his family and left Cuba.
Gladys is immensely disappointed with her life in Cuba and asks for help to return to her native Ukraine. According to her, it is better to be fed in the cold than hungry in the heat.
Right now she needs money for plane tickets for 3 people ($ 2000) to fly to Kiev. She will also need a new apartment (no interior works - $ 14). There will be only bare walls, so she will need money for all the interior work.

“… We have an apartment in a five-story building, the houses look like after a war or a fire… water is not here every day, and we have barrels of water in our apartment, draw a bucket, and one barrel suspended so that water is drawn into the tap for washing hands…”

In Ukraine, my salary is small in the state. in an institution of $ 100, the price of a refrigerator was $ 200, but here a refrigerator costs $ 1000 with a salary of $ 20-40 ... "

"
“… Such lovely smiling people that it’s already sick… lie, deceive and steal, practically everything is stolen wherever it is… everything is in bars, like in a prison. We even stole flowers in the front garden near the windows, and on New Year's Eve 2018 they stole a fence ... "
