A French student developed an allergy to hair dye, which caused her face to grow and become deformed.
Hair dye 19-year-old Estelle acquired in the supermarket, writes RIA News.
Before using it, she did an allergy test, but didn’t pay attention to the fact that it was necessary to wait for two days, not 30 minutes.
“I did a stupid thing and I want to warn others: do not act like me,” the girl said.
A few hours after the girl repainted in a brunette, she showed an allergic reaction to paraphenylenediamine, a substance used in the manufacture of dyes. The skin of the upper part of the head began to swell.
The girl turned to the emergency room, by which time the circumference of her head had increased from 56 to 63 centimeters. She was given medication and allowed to go home, but the swelling continued to increase, and her tongue was swollen, Estelle began to choke. She was hospitalized, and after treatment, the state of the girl began to improve.
After recovering, Estelle published photographs of her deformed face, noting that she "almost died and would not want this to happen to others." Allergy to paraphenylenediamine occurs in 2-3% of the world's population.
