TJ Maxx or Nordstrom Rack: where it is more profitable to buy things

Shopping at discount stores is a modern trend. TJ Maxx is a prime example of what works in this category of stores today. The chain does not close its outlets despite the retail crisis in the United States, as they show consistently high sales.
In recent years, Nordstrom Rack, which was launched back in 1973, has become a serious competitor to this network, but has begun to be widely used recently. Edition Business Insider compared these two stores to find out where it is more profitable to buy things.
Like TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack sells designer clothes with 30-70% discounts.
The design of the store and the principle of its work strongly resembles TJ Maxx. In the accessories section, cheap jewelry hangs on racks, while more expensive ones are locked in a closet. All cosmetic products must be taken by yourself.
But in the store you can find high-end brands. Despite the same design as the TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack seems to be a higher-end version of the discount store. There you can find Marc Jacobs bags for almost 200 dollars and Tumi bags for 400 dollars.
The store is mainly divided by brand names, which makes it easier to shop and search for lucrative offers for those brands that interest you.
Many exclusive labels such as Rag & Bone, Theory and 7 For All Mankind can be found on the shelves, which are less likely to be found in TJ Maxx stores. However, many brands are represented in both stores, among them, for example, Calvin Klein.
In the sales area of Nordstrom Rack, different brands are mixed together, as in TJ Maxx.
About 20% of what is sold in these discount stores is stock from mainstream brand stores, while most items are purchased specifically for Nordstrom Rack. Taking this into account, you may not get as lucrative discounts as expected.
The shoe layout in Nordstrom Rack is very similar to the one in TJ Maxx, but it looks more organized. For some models and well-known brands, several sizes are displayed in the shop window.
Currently in the USA and Canada there are 239 discount stores Nordstrom Rack and 1236 TJ Maxx.
