Monday, 19 Jun, Caitlin Cargill from Texas went with a dog for a walk and did not return. Mom 14-year-old girl, Trisha West, said she saw a pet tied to the fence in a nearby park for dogs, but her daughter was not there.
“I went to look for her 30 minutes after she didn't return home,” the woman said.
On Wednesday, June 21, Caitlin’s body was discovered by workers at the Arlington test site. The cause of her death is unknown.
According to Dallas Morning News, the police did not run Amber Alert right away, because the officers viewed Caitlin’s disappearance as an escape from home.
The Bedford police asked all those who might know something about the girl’s death to contact the department immediately.
"We will check every lead, we will do everything in our power to find the culprit or those responsible for Caitlyn's death," said Bedford Police Lieutenant Kirk Roberts.
