New York Magazine has published a long article about Woody Allen's wife Sun-Yi Previn. She is the adopted daughter of Allen’s ex-civil wife and the cause of their quarrel. The author of the article about her is an old friend of the director. And now she is accused of bias.

“Today, Sun-Yi is considered to be a kind of accomplice, who is on the side of her husband, who has been accused of violence against Dylan Farrow again, his reputation collapsed, and his once-honored films are being rethought in the context of the #MeToo movement,” the article says .
Merkin argues that the time has come to listen to Sun-II herself.
She is described in the material of New York Magazine as a strong, confident and courageous woman who had to overcome adversity from childhood. When she was five years old, Sun-Yi ran away from home looking for a better life (“we had a room without furniture and a small concrete courtyard”) and lived on the streets of Seoul until she came to the police - and then to the shelter. It was from there in the year 1977 that Mia Farrow took her, which by that time already had three biological and two adopted children with her husband - composer, pianist and conductor Andre Previn.
According to Sung-Yi, this did not bring her happiness: the adoptive mother had a complex character and favorites among the children (in which Sung-I was not included). Sun-Yi recalls that even at the first meeting at the Farrow shelter, she seemed to be insincere, although she admits that the mother is very talented, and regrets that their relationship was not warmer.
Sun-Yi told the publication that Mia Farrow did not give her the necessary care (“It’s a pity that she didn’t teach me how to paint. I don’t even know how to do it all. Mia didn’t explain how to use a tampon, but I bought my first bra nanny").
She claims that the foster mother had outbreaks of aggression and she threw objects at her, and once locked up her adopted son Tadeus, suffering from paralysis of the lower extremities, for the night in the barn for a minor offense (in 2016, he committed suicide). Similarly, another adopted child, Moses, recalled her childhood in the Farrow house; Farrow herself denied all allegations of child abuse.
When Sun-Yo was 10 years old, Mia Farrow began dating Woody Allen (the couple were not married and never lived together in the same house). Sun-Yi says that at first she didn’t like Allen very much: she could not believe that a good man would meet a woman like her adoptive mother.
According to her, she never perceived him as a father: “I already had a father - Andre Previn. Woody was the mother's boyfriend, everything is clear and simple. He was a completely separate person. ”
Gradually, Allen began to help Sun-Yi, especially when she broke her leg; on Farrow’s initiative, they went to basketball games together and gradually became friends.
Sun-Yi says that by this time, Allen and Farrow’s relationship had deteriorated and they were together mostly for the sake of the children. When Sun-Yi was 21 year, he and Allen began a romance that they tried to hide:
"We were like two magnets that were drawn to each other." She calls this relationship a “moral dilemma” and acknowledges that it was a betrayal on the part of both of them, “a terrible thing and a monstrous shock [for Farrow].”

Farrow began questioning the girl, and she allegedly told her mother that Allen was pestering her in the attic and putting her finger into her vagina. The actress recorded the story of the girl on video (the investigation did not reach the court, since the prosecutor and Mia Farrow acknowledged that the trial would harm the girl).
As the newspaper writes, shortly after Farrow found out about the alleged violence against Dylan, her lawyers offered Allen to pay the actress five to seven million dollars for non-disclosure of this information (he refused), and four days later the director at a press conference made his public relationship with Sun Yi. This was the first time he said he loved her. Three years later they were married. When the journalist asked if it was a conscious or unconscious revenge of Mia Farrow, Sun-Yi replied: “Do you think I would live with him for more than 20 years to settle the score with Mia?”.

One of the attempts of Allen and his allies to “publish information that blackens my mother and undermines my trust in Allen’s convincing statements about violence [on the part of Allen],” he found the publication.
He also stated that, as a journalist, “was shocked by disregard for the facts and the reluctance of the publication to include in the article evidence that contradicts published lies.”
Dylan Farrow also responded to the Twitter post. She wrote that New York Magazine asked her to comment on some of the false allegations of the publication’s interlocutors - in particular, that the mother inclined her to slander Allen by “bribing” with a doll (which, according to Dylan Farrow, began to be released over the years). “My mother never sued me up [against her father], always stood behind me, even when Woody Allen lowered all the dogs on her in the form of her lawyers, allies and journalists like the author of this article. Thanks to my mother, I grew up in a beautiful home full of love that she created. ” She stressed that she had not changed her testimony for more than 20 years and that her words are supported by evidence.
