Hollywood (and then - Russian) actresses began to talk about the hard-hitting side of cooperation with famous directors. Elena Antonenko, a Soviet, Russian and American actress, also has such a sad experience.
Elena gave a long interview to Komsomolskaya Pravda, in which she spoke about harassment from Oleg Tabakov. Antonenko was his student. She came to his studio in 14 years.
“Oleg Tabakov recruited schoolchildren to his studio, looked at 10 of thousands of Moscow students ... I read him two lines, and Tabakov said:“ I’m taking it, you're my man, ”Elena recalls.
Then on the stage of “Sovremennik” there had to be a premiere of the performance based on the play Roshchina Echelon. However, Marina Neyolova did not have time to return from Amsterdam in time, and Tabakov proposed young Antonenko for her role.
As Elena recalls, she didn’t eat the whole day before the premiere, she was so nervous. Tabakov gave her a huge chocolate right before going out.
The actress admits that Oleg Pavlovich did a lot for her. But once there was an unpleasant incident. Right on the stage of the theater, during the premiere of Echelon, someone poisoned Oleg Efremov's ex-wife, actress Alla Pokrovskaya. Instead of water, she swallowed liquid ammonia slipped by someone and wheezed ... The performance was stopped, and the shocked Elena Antonenko ran into the studio shouting: “Guys, Alla Pokrovskaya was poisoned!”.
As a teenager, Elena was shocked. And the director decided that it was a betrayal. He summoned a schoolgirl to himself (which, by the way, he called “the most beloved”) and said: “Sor can not be taken out of the hut. I have to part with you. "
So was the first and last performance of Antonenko in Sovremennik.
Alla Pokrovskaya suffered severe burns of the tongue, larynx, lungs and stomach. She barely survived. And Elena was hospitalized with neurological shock. But after that, the girl did not lose her dream of becoming an actress.
Enrolling in GITIS, Antonenko did not study in the Tabakov group. Although he spoke to the girl, came to her exams and waited for her to approach him. But Elena never came up. Only after graduating from high school, she made an appointment with him. Speaking with Oleg Pavlovich in his office (the director was discussing what theater a young actress could go to), the girl suddenly heard from him: “Lena, I will not do anything, just show me your little tit”.
Antonenko left as stunned. She then remembered this episode for years, with shame and pain. Without the protection of Tabakov, the actress settled in the Theater of Plastic Drama Gennady Yudenich.
This is not the only case in Elena's career, when the directors made her an obscene offer and, without receiving consent, took revenge. So, after the refusal, Emil Lotyan did not take Antonenko into the main role in the film “My tender and tender beast” (as a result, Galina Belyaev played).
Once Antonenko was approved for the role in the film “Our Vocation” (continuation of the film “The Republic of ShKID”). The director, Gennady Poloka, waited for Elena to “thank” him for the role and invited her into her room. But, without waiting, right on the set, she demanded that she give her costume to another actress, who was trying with her.
The director Merab Tavadze, not having achieved reciprocity, frankly mocked Antonenko: he shot her heroine’s death in the cold, did not allow her to warm up, did not allow him to lay something warm on the snow. As a result, the girl received bilateral pneumonia and pyelonephritis. And the director continued to knock at the door of her room at night.
On the Russian stage, Antonenko worked for 16 for years, then went to the USA, where she managed to play in the cult TV series "The Sopranos Clan" and the musical "The Phantom of the Opera". But, by her own admission, she would like to return to Russia and continue acting in her homeland.
