ITishnitsa from Novosibirsk shared her story of reincarnation from man to woman in Russian realities. Despite the fact that at first the Siberian woman considered the life of a transgender person in Russia to be almost unbearable, not all her bad expectations were met.
The telegram channel Mesta.Media paid attention to the unusual history of the Russian transgender. A girl named Ekaterina (the name was changed at the request of the narrator) 20 years, she lives in Novosibirsk and works as an IT-specialist, writes Medialeaks with reference to News.ngs. In her story, she shares all the problems and anxieties she had to face before accepting herself and her body.
Catherine says that the question of changing sex appeared in her head not sharply, but was constantly inside her for a long time. As a child, she dreamed of conquering space, creating a computer game and becoming a girl, but did not really understand how this could be done.
The first thoughts about the change of sex in Catherine began to appear in five years. She saw a program on TV telling about a person who became a transgender, and immediately ran to the parents with a question.
Parents said only that yes, it happens. But all the same, it sunk into my head, I thought I would grow up and do it too.
The first signs that Catherine, still a man, did not consider herself to be such, began to manifest in behavior: she was embarrassed to walk with a naked torso, wore long hair and grew nails (within reasonable limits). All this helped her feel more comfortable. When Catherine had her first hair on her body, she began to dress in more closed unisex clothes. Her girlfriend is still.
According to the Siberian, everyone at school treated her quite adequately, so she didn’t have to deal with ridicule, much less beatings.
Yes, people saw that I was a little strange person, but they were treated as something funny, they didn’t see something that you need to beat and call a person.
As a teenager, Catherine became fascinated with transgender literature. It was then that the Siberian woman began to realize that she wanted to become one of them. At first, it was difficult for her to get used to the idea that she could be a transgender, because the girl grew up in an ordinary Russian family.

The first steps towards accepting ourselves for Catherine were changes in speech. For example, at first she began to avoid endings denoting belonging to any gender, and after that - to talk about herself in the feminine gender.
The final realization that she is a girl came to Catherine in 18 years. As she herself admits, making such a confession in Russia seemed like a death sentence to her. The girl did not assume that she could decide to take such a step, but the more she read the different stories of other transgender people, the more she realized that living such a life is quite realistic.
The most difficult thing for a Siberian was to tell her parents about her decision. At first they didn’t understand her, so the mother went with her daughter to a psychotherapist, who concluded that the decision was made by the girl in an adequate condition, so Catherine does this of her own free will. After that, her parents began to get used to the new “role” of her child.
One of the most important things in the transition for Catherine was hormone therapy. At first, the girl drank medicine without a doctor's prescription - amid depression, it was difficult for her to find a job to pay for the services of a specialist.
When I started, I did not have the opportunity and had a fear of hormones - I put it off a bit for later. But at the first opportunity, she signed up for a doctor to appoint a special course for her. Catherine argues that there is nothing terrible in this, and with well-chosen drugs, the side effects will be minimal.
To get a new passport with a changed floor, the girl had to go through a lot of doctors and commissions. After all this, she should have been given an opinion on sexual reorientation, with which she had to go to the registry office. Catherine was preparing for the worst, but it is recognized that her expectations were not fulfilled.
Without special problems, without any particular difficulties, we agreed with the head of the registry office to receive a new birth certificate; there were no problems. Everything was grown-up, everything is serious.
In late August, she was given a new birth certificate, where a new gender was registered. Catherine immediately sent a photo of her mother and said that she now officially had a daughter. The girl was very pleased, but said she did not feel much relief.
As for the sex change, Catherine does not consider this operation necessary for herself. She pondered over this question for a long time and came to the conclusion that it is better to leave the body that nature gave you.
If I live 5-10 for years, counting every penny to accumulate several millions for the best surgery from the best surgeon, or go to the first surgeon and get a dubious result ... Neither is the goal for me.
Now Catherine has a partner with whom she met on a dating site. In her profile she honestly wrote about who she is. They have quite a traditional life together. The couple even plans to fully sign the registry office, because Catherine according to the documents - a woman.
