Senator Larissa Waters of Australia became the first woman politician in a country that fed the baby during a meeting of parliament. The first time was in May. On Thursday, June 22, she did it again right during the performance.
Larissa spoke to colleagues in the hall of the federal parliament, not letting the little daughter Aliya out of her hands. At this point, she was breastfeeding a three-month baby. The Green Party senator introduced a proposal for combating black lungs disease.
In May, many media outlets wrote about Larissa’s actions. Breastfeeding activists were delighted with the senator.
"Aliya is making history! My daughter is the first child to be breastfed in the federal parliament. We need more women and parents here, ”the politician noted on her page in Instagram.
Last year, the mother of two children, Larissa Waters, initiated changes in the rules of the Senate to allow women to feed their children in parliament.
