Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce has been going on for two and a half years, and there’s no end to it. The ex-spouses are already rather tired of the divorce process and dream to complete it as soon as possible. Actors cannot finally agree on custody of their six children, but besides parenting, they have something to share, writes KP.
At stake is a fortune in 400 of millions of dollars, much of which is real estate. And it is not so easy to share. In addition, the former spouses have a common business. Pitt and Jolie can feed lawyers for years and fight in court, but they decided to do otherwise. Angelina and Brad are already sick of the uncertain marital status - after all, they have long been not together, but officially still a spouse. The artists decided to ask the court to quickly dissolve them and, finally, change their status to “free.”
Pitt and Jolie want the judge to set them apart before making a decision on all other legal issues. This is called bifurcation - the division of the trial into two parts. First, the court decides on marital status, and only then considers property issues and custody of children. Officially, Angelina and Brad will no longer be considered a husband and wife, but they will still have to resolve all other issues in court.
“They will both be considered divorced and single, but they will still have to negotiate a final court decision, including division of property and custody,” a source told Page Sixe. - They don't want to be husband and wife to each other anymore, they want to move on.
Recall that in early December 2018, the press learned that 55-year-old Brad Pitt and 43-year-old Angelina Jolie signed a custody agreement. 4 December was scheduled for another hearing, but the actors were able to amicably agree on how they would educate their offspring.
Earlier it was reported that Angelina almost two years insisted on sole custody, while Brad always wanted to raise children on an equal footing with his ex-wife and spend half the time with them. Now six offspring (17-year-old Maddox, 15-year-old Pax, 13-year-old Zahara, 12-year-old Shiloh and 10-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox) live with their mother, and only recently the court allowed Pitt to meet more often with them.
