Pope Francis was very moved by the plot, and in his Christmas greeting to believers and pilgrims in the Vatican, he recalled that this scene in the manger is also present in the everyday life of families with small children: “How many husbands and wives have to replace each other at night for a little boy or girls who cry, cry and cry! ”
Francis called this "gentle" image especially important today: "The tenderness of a family, marriage, a nursery means much more today than ever."
