According to Woody, Lindsay's husband, both believed that the Cat was smart enough to find a safe place and survive. But every day the hope melted away.
Michael Pennon, an animal control officer from Montecito, saw her feet in the mud near Oak Grove Drive, followed the cat, broke the second floor window in the house where she was hiding, and found the animal under the bed. They put the cat in the trunk - so she returned home.
“There is so much destruction here that the ability to reunite this cat with her loving family was special for our entire department,” Pennon admits. He nicknamed the Cat Paw print kitty due to the fact that the tracks actually saved her life.
