Ari Seth Cohen is a young American photographer who became famous for the unusual objects in his photographs. Cohen photographs only elderly people. His youngest model was 59 years, and the oldest has long exceeded 100! But these are far from typical pensioners. Ari Seth finds in New York beautiful, stylish and well-groomed people whom even the language does not turn to be called old men.
Cohen was born about 1980 year (he carefully hides the exact age) in San Diego. The boy was brought up by his grandmother Blum and his grandfather, and not by his parents. Maternal grandmother was like a mother to Cohen.
Granny worked in the library, but was so bright, light and interesting person that the little boy was looking forward to when he was old, to lead the same lifestyle. Together with his grandmother, he went to the cinema, attended festivals and concerts, read books and went on trips, watched the huge fashion albums of grandmother's youth. It was from her that Ari took that incredible craving for life, the joy of each passing day, and the undying fire of development.
Cohen very hard survived the death of his beloved mentor, and after suffering a strike, he decided to fulfill his grandmother's last wish and move to New York. When she was young, she studied at Columbia University. Life in a big city inspired her so much that she dreamed of transporting her grandson there.
At first, the guy had a hard time in New York: he had no friends or acquaintances here. But on the streets he constantly met beautiful, well-groomed elderly ladies who, with their style and brightness of dresses, always reminded him of his beloved grandmother. In the end, Cohen took a camera from a neighbor in a rented apartment and started taking pictures.
Not every model reacted happily to such shootings. But when the photographer said that this material will not be used for advertising, but to show people how important it is to remain at the height at any age, almost no one refused.
Over time, a whole blog was created. Advancedstyle, on which to this day there are more and more new photos from which you really can not tear myself away.
