After watching the Chernobyl series, many people began to wonder again how dangerous or safe the nuclear power industry was. Should man flirt with the splitting of the atom?
My opinion: the Chernobyl disaster and Fukushima is an unequivocal warning to humanity. History knows a lot of problems caused by nuclear reactions, and no matter how hard they try to classify them, this is an awl that you cannot hide in any Kevlar bag.
Yes, we learned to see the invisible. Detectors that record and measure radiation allow us to do this, but, fortunately, they have not yet become a permanent attribute of our life, although there is a possibility that soon all modern phones will have a radiation dosimeter. But so far, the majority of people have no idea about nuclear processes and entrust their fate to nuclear physicists who are experimenting, convincing politicians that managing nuclear processes is the future of humanity.

In my opinion, the cause of all nuclear catastrophes is untimely and insufficient knowledge of not only the population, but also specialists in the field of nuclear energy and nuclear weapons.
It should be understood that the search for absolute weapons lies at the heart of nuclear research, and everything else is just an appendix to this.
Therefore, a peaceful atom cannot be a priori close to a person. The term “peaceful atom” is a deception of millions of people who have been promised benefits and have not been told that every nuclear facility is not an ordinary boiler room heating water, but a weapon of mass destruction. Cheating millions of uneducated people by a small group of uneducated people.
Mankind is in a hurry in its development, the gap between advanced knowledge and technology and the general level of education of the population over the past decades has become huge. This rush will lead to the fact that we will be forced to return to an earlier stage of knowledge of the world, understandable to the overwhelming majority of mankind, and for a while to abandon untimely technologies.

We can feel ourselves in relative safety only if the average educational level of the entire population of the Earth rises by several points.
