63-year-old Brian Belovich today is in a happy marriage, helps people cope with addictions and lives in harmony with themselves. To this he went very long and hard, writes Woman.ru.
This story is worthy of adaptation. At the age of 19, a native of Brooklyn, Brian Belovich, decided to change sex. And not at all spontaneously - he suffered from childhood.
From a young age, Brian was discouraged - he was constantly confused with the girl. It happened that he walked with his mother to the store, and strangers said: “Oh, what a beauty, where did you get such curly hair and long eyelashes?” Naturally, for a child of two or three years old it was very strange to hear, but for his mother it was simply unbearable.
“She pulled me away and shouted:“ He is a boy! ”" - Belovich recalled.
Brian’s father’s life didn’t do better.
“My dad, who died when he was 80 years old, often said:“ Why do you walk like that? Stop shaking your ass like that, ”the man said.
In school years, the situation did not get better. Belovich grew up as a plump, handsome boy with very feminine features. Naturally, from his classmates he got it.
“They followed me to the house, threw stones at me and shouted that I was gay. I was afraid of them and that my father might hear them, ”Brian admitted.
To understand who he really is, Brian was helped by a new friend named Paul Breecker, whom he calls a “mentor”. Paul, unfortunately, tagically died at the age of 27 from aneurysm.
Belovich moved to the house of Paul and his mother (she is still alive - the woman was 93 years old), where he could be open in the manifestation of his homosexuality. Friends plunged headlong into the world of drag show.

At the age of 18, Belovich began to earn money with travesty performances in New York, and after almost a year he turned to a doctor who did not ask many questions to change his gender.
First, hormone injections were used - thanks to them, Brian grew a small chest, his voice became more feminine, and the overall appearance was soft.
At the end of the year, Brian officially changed documents and turned into Natalia. For the next 11 years he lived as Tish.
In 1979, after four years of hormone replacement therapy, Belovich still did not feel “real self”, so he went to the office of a plastic surgeon and enlarged his chest. Now he realizes that this was a mistake.
“I never felt like a woman 100%. I just reacted to situations that happened around me, ”Brian said.
At that time, he continued to work, performed with his group seven nights a week and was known as the “big busty girl”.
All this, however, greatly influenced his mental health, so at some point Brian broke loose, became addicted to alcohol and drugs, squandered all his money and spent the night on his friend’s couch.
“I understood that the moment was coming when I needed to decide: either I have surgery on my genitals, or return to the fact that I will be Brian again,” Belovich recalls.
It is worthwhile to understand that then society became more tolerant of gays, and homosexual men could look more feminine. One day, Brian met such a guy in the gym and thought: “It could be me!” So the breast was removed a few months later.

“After the operation, I cried. Not from pain! Just a huge stone fell from my chest. Everything became as it should have been, ”said Brian, who at the same time admitted to homosexuality.
Now Brian is happily married to 61-year-old gardener Jim Russell and is advising people who are trying to cope with alcohol and drug addiction. In 2018, he released the book Transfigured: My Way from Boy to Girl, to Woman, to Man.
