The coronavirus pandemic has affected our everyday fashion. Now an integral part of each person’s wardrobe has become a medical mask, recalls Rambler.
We tell you what problems can arise if you wear makeup under a mask.
For starters, the mask itself does not have the best effect on your skin. It creates a moist environment due to the fact that the exhaled air "stuck" under the material. This can lead to the accumulation of sweat and fat on the skin, which in turn contributes to the appearance of inflammation and acne.
Therefore, before putting on the mask, it is worth cleansing the face. Any potentially irritating and clogging pores should be avoided, because moisture under the mask can affect the production of sebum and lead to an increase in clogged pores.
Also, using cosmetics under a mask can damage not only the skin, but also the mask itself. The material may get dirty, which will lead to a decrease in the quality of air filtration. Masks contaminated with cosmetics should also not be sterilized or worn again.
However, if you still can not leave the house without everyday makeup, nothing prevents you from applying makeup above the edge of the mask. Focus on the eyes and eyebrows, but do not apply makeup on the cheeks, nose, chin, and areas around the mouth.
