Dangerous: dog treats have already killed 15 animals in the USA

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns dog owners of the dangers of store-bought so-called bone treats (bone treats), which have already led to numerous diseases and even 15 animal deaths, writes USA Today.
In the user recommendations, the administration reports that it received about 70 reports on animal diseases related to bone dainties. Among them:
- obstruction of the digestive tract;
- suffocation;
- wounds and cuts in the mouth and throat;
- vomiting;
- diarrhea;
- bleeding from the intestines;
- death.
The composition of the delicacy-bone differ from the real meat bones. They are processed and packaged for sale exactly as treats for dogs. Treats can be dried, may contain preservatives, seasonings and flavors.

“Feeding your dog a treat like this can lead to an unexpected trip to the veterinary clinic, possible emergency surgery or even the death of the animals,” says veterinarian Carmela Stamper in an official statement. The FDA has also received reports describing cases of moldy or crushed treats.
Animal owners should consult with veterinarians to discuss good and healthy treats, and also never give turkey or chicken bones to their animals, in order to avoid injuries and suffocation.
