At the beginning of 90-s, 8-year-old Oksana Malaya from a small Ukrainian village became famous for the whole former Union. On the discovery of the girl-Mowgli, which brought up the dogs, then all the media, without exception, trumpeted. Oksana deftly ran on all fours, barked, howled, growled and even bit.
Life in a booth
Oksana Malaya was born in 1983, in the village of New Blagoveshchenka, Kherson region, writes Clever. Despite the fact that Oksana's parents had been abusing alcohol all their lives, the girl who had come into the world had no visible abnormalities. According to experts, with proper care, upbringing and education, the child would develop into a fully capable personality. But nothing of the above Oksana in the family has not received.
Moreover, at the age of 2-3 for years, the drunken father and mother simply forgot her on the street. In search of warmth and protection, their daughter climbed into a doghouse in the courtyard of the house and fell asleep, clinging to a mongrel named Naida.
Over the next 5-6 years, Oksana Malaya practically lived with the animal. Her father’s shy attempts at returning to the house, her father immediately stopped her with a boot. Soon, Oksana came to terms with her fate: she shared with Naida not only a roof over her head, but also a modest ration. In addition, Oksana adopted many habits from Naida: Malaya ran on all fours, barked, howled, bit, varnished from a bowl and even caught teeth with fleas. In this state, Oksana was found by the guardianship officers.
Boarding school
The teachers of the Odessa boarding school, where they sent the girl-dog, at first stayed in shock. Throughout their practice, they have never seen anything like it. Oksana had to teach literally everything: to sleep on the bed, and not on the floor, to wash, use a toothbrush and a towel.
A new pupil could not even hold a spoon. However, the cutlery was not needed by the girl: she just poured the soup and compote into a plate with a second dish and varnished the resulting slush.
Despite the fact that Malaya clearly understood human speech, she always preferred to answer all questions in monosyllables: “yes” or “no.” However, this is why experts have suggested that Oksana did sometimes communicate with people. Perhaps among her interlocutors were local residents. For this reason, it is still not clear why, for so many years, none of them rang the bell and turned to the appropriate authorities.
Our days
Until her age, Oksana Malaya lived in the Odessa boarding house for children with developmental disabilities. There, thanks to the efforts of the staff, she finally began to talk, learn to count, read, write, and acquired the necessary self-service skills. Nevertheless, as Oksana herself admitted, she did not manage to completely get rid of dog habits.
In a state of strong emotional excitement (for example, if someone offended her) Small could bark or bite. In addition, the former girl-dog is still lagging behind in the mental and mental development of their peers.
After graduating from the boarding school, Oksana at first wanted to return to her father, who was not opposed to taking her daughter to her. But Malaya changed her mind and settled in a psycho-neurological boarding school located in the village of Baraboy, Odessa region. There, 35-year-old Oksana cares for horses and cows. Thanks to the publicity of this story, Malaya even had a bridegroom named Fedor from Kazan.
