Duties of children at home in America

American children are often spoiled, but they can lose all toys and privileges if they do not fulfill their household duties. Here is a sample list of what their parents American parents are teaching.

⭕ 2 – 3 of the year
remove toys;
wipe up spills;
dusting;
help sort garbage (for recycling);
transfer clothes from the washing machine to the dryer.

⭕ 4 – 5 years (added to the above)
put the dishes in the dishwasher;
set the table;
water the flowers;
make the bed;
bring mail from the mailbox;
feed animals.

⭕ 6 – 8 years
sort and put the washed things;
prepare simple meals;
vacuuming;
load and unload the dishwasher;
walk the dog.

⭕ 9 – 11 years
taking out the trash;
clean the floor;
wash clothes;
cut the lawn.

prepare full meals;
wash the bathroom, refrigerator, windows;
wash the car (often parents pay for it);
cleaning the whole house;
clean the leaves in the fall and clean the snow in the winter.
