'Nobody stopped': in Russia, a man entered a kindergarten and stabbed a sleeping child

In the capital of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, an 36-year-old local man burst into the kindergarten during a quiet hour and mortally wounded a six-year-old boy with a knife, according to the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR).

How the attacker got into kindergarten

“The investigation is finding out how the drunk man got into the premises of the kindergarten, which is under the protection of a private security company,” Svetlana Tarnaeva, senior assistant to the head of the regional department of the ICR, told Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, the man was able to go to kindergarten unhindered, no one stopped him. According to the source, he was not registered with the police, had not previously been convicted. “Based on the results of the initial survey, which was conducted by law enforcement officers, the man gave testimony that allows us to conclude that his condition is inadequate. He spoke about some spells that allegedly pushed him to kill the child, ”a source told TASS.

“According to the preliminary information I have, the detained criminal was registered by the drug dispensary as a chronic alcoholic,” Governor of the Nenets Okrug Alexander Tsybulsky told the local newspaper NAO24.
“At the moment it is known that an employee of a security agency in a kindergarten remotely opened the door to a stranger,” added the governor.
