32-year-old Melissa MacNamara Rog was in a hurry to change into a luxurious dress for her first dance, when the elevator in which she was going down was stuck between the 17 and 18 floors. Fortunately, she passed the champagne!
The bridesmaids waited for Melissa, and at some point they realized that something had gone wrong. They called for help - and even when the experts arrived at the scene, it became clear that the evening would drag on, writes Mirror.
The guests did not despair and decided to cheer up the bride, as they could - the elevator was ajar, but Melissa was not allowed to get out of it, since the cabin was between floors and could be set in motion at any moment. Friends handed her a glass of champagne so that she could enjoy the evening even in such cramped conditions.
“I was terribly bored for the first half hour, but when the doors were opened, I felt better,” the bride smiles.
Melissa communicated with her husband and family members, was able to talk with firefighters who came to rescue her, to understand what was happening. At the 17 floor, there was a cocktail wedding party in full swing, so the bride, albeit indirectly, participated in it.
The girl managed to get out of the imprisonment only after the elevator repair service representatives arrived, reset the system and stabilized the cabin so that the unwitting victim of this trap could safely leave the elevator. The guests arranged a stormy welcome for the freed bride - and the party continued successfully.
