Nobody really wants such a surprise! On Tuesday evening, a Miami resident went to the bathroom before going to bed. Opening the toilet lid, the woman screamed in horror. Inside was ... a live iguana, writes Miami Herald.
Gathering her courage, the hostess of the house, whose name was not named, closed the lid, under which the impressive size of the reptile remained, and immediately called the 911 service. The first thing that the police advised her (and it is hardly possible for the woman to do this anymore) is to check again and make sure that it is an iguana, and not a snake.
Lieutenant Scott Mullin, who received the call, said that this was the first time in his practice. The policeman came to the call, where he was already eagerly awaited by the whole family of a woman who wanted to get rid of the unpleasant toilet stranger as soon as possible. Do not think, no one began to offend the reptile, moreover, they helped her to find caring hands and a new home.
Wearing gloves, Mullin pulled the iguana out of the closet, put it in a special box, and took it with him to take it to wildlife rescue. Most likely, the animal got to the toilet through the sewer pipes, the policeman said. Iguanas are excellent swimmers and are able to hold their breath for a long time, so, apparently, one of the “lucky women” was visiting a shocked family.
