How Taylor Tricked Her Subscribers
Life style and beauty blogger Natalya Taylor have nearly 2 million followers on YouTube and about 2000 followers on Instagram. Once she decided to conduct an experiment and see if she could deceive her audience by fabricating a luxury trip to Bali.
Taylor has published several fake stories from the plane and the airport, as well as a video with the scenery of the resort. She simply took all these materials from the Internet using the #BALI hashtag.
She did the rest of the work in the nearest IKEA store: she was photographed in an evening dress against the background of various exhibition interiors, passing them off as hotels and night clubs. Her subscribers did not doubt for a minute that Natalya really rests on the island in a big way.
The girl didn’t take photoshop of the photos and specially left tips for subscribers on them - especially attentive fans could notice Ikea price tags on some interior items in the “Airbnb-Apartments” and the reflection of the retail space of the furniture store in the mirrors. However, as expected, no one noticed anything.
Why is that all
Taylor dedicated a YouTube release to her experiment.
Natalia really went on vacation, but not in Bali, but in Las Vegas. She also clarified that IKEA did not sponsor her experiment. By the way, the video gained nearly a million views in a week.
“I think this is a lesson in this video. He definitely is. Do not believe everything you see on the Internet. People can deceive you, pretending to be who they really are not, ”said Natalya.
