The Russian Embassy in Turkey reported the death of an 12-year-old Russian woman who was injured during a vacation at a local hotel. The girl died in the hospital without leaving a coma. At the moment, the diplomatic service is deciding on the transportation of the body to the homeland. Representatives of the embassy also promised to closely monitor the progress of the investigation of the tragic incident, which will be addressed by Turkish law enforcement agencies.

As stated in the diplomatic mission, the heart of the child stopped in the university hospital Pamukkale despite the efforts made by medical personnel.
“According to Turkish doctors, after repeated attempts at resuscitation, cardiac arrest was detected,” RIA Novosti reported with reference to the press attaché of the Russian Embassy in Ankara.
The Consulate General also expressed condolences to the parents of the deceased and promised to assist in the delivery of the body to their homeland. In addition, the Russian diplomatic mission pledged to closely monitor the progress of the investigation of the tragic incident, which will be conducted by Turkish law enforcement agencies.
“We hope that the Turkish justice will establish the circle of persons guilty of this tragedy, and they will suffer the deserved punishment,” the embassy said.
Information about the death of the girl was also confirmed by her parents. The child’s father turned to all concerned in his account on the social network "Vkontakte".
“At the beginning of the fourth she died. Thanks for the help, for the support. We must somehow live on, ”the man wrote.

The day before the death of the 12-year-old Russian woman, her parents decided to refuse to transport her daughter to St. Petersburg, the Fontanka publication reported. As her father noted, he and his wife wanted to wait for the improvement of their daughter's condition.
“My wife and I decided not to risk it and stay here for now. When flying, the risk of losing a daughter is very high, ”the man said. He also noted that the tour operator provided them with his wife to stay in Turkey for another week.
The condition of the teenager worsened every day - on August 27, she began subfebrile fever, the press service of the administration of the governor of St. Petersburg told reporters. Then the doctors supported the decision of the parents to leave the girl in Turkey, saying that transportation can cause certain risks.
The accident with the Russian woman occurred on August 18 at the Sunhill Hotel in Bodrum. On that day, the child’s hand was sucked into the pool pipe - the girl could not swim to the surface for 10 minutes.
Vacationers rushed to the rescue, however, they managed to release it only after the pump was finally turned off. After the incident, the girl was taken to hospital in critical condition. As Turkish doctors later told Russian colleagues, she survived a clinical death four times.
Then there was no question of transporting the child - doctors could not transport her even within the hospital, Vladimir Kopylov, the main non-staff children's specialist of the St. Petersburg Health Committee, told reporters.
Russian doctors, who carefully monitored what their Turkish colleagues told them, a few days after the incident started talking about the fact that the child had little chance of survival. He explained that the condition of the girl was complicated by the fact that she spent a lot of time under water - during this time she developed oxygen starvation, which could affect the cerebral cortex.
“I can say that if the lack of oxygen brought the girl to a cardiac arrest, then, unfortunately, she has few chances to survive and recover completely. Especially since she’s 12 years old - at this age the brain is no longer so plastic and, accordingly, the chances are reduced even more, ”the specialist told the site kp.ru.
At the moment, Turkish police have already detained employees of the Sunhill Hotel, in the pool of which a tragedy occurred that claimed the lives of Russians. As RIA "Novosti" was told by the press attaché of the Russian Embassy in Ankara, Irina Kasimova, the detainees are under recognizance not to leave. The Bodrum Prosecutor’s Office is investigating whether a child has been harmed.
At the same time, the manager of the Sunhill hotel himself does not intend to admit his involvement in the death of the girl - the man told the police that the fault lay with her parents, who did not keep track of their daughter.
According to Pole Tomasz Gruczalski, who participated in the rescue of the girl, the manager told his version of what happened during the testimony in the police. At the same time, there were no signs to ban children from swimming near the pool, the tourist notes.
