American parents complain that their children speak with a British accent and grunt.
Parents in the US complain that because of the cartoons about Peppe's pig, their children speak with a British accent, although they have never left their home country or even the state, writes UNIAN.
A cartoon that broadcasts Nick Jr. both in Europe and in North America, is quite popular among children aged from 1,5 to 6 years, writes the newspaper Daily Star.
However, some mothers and fathers in the US caution about the so-called "Peppa effect." In particular, they talk about how their children, because of the cartoon, began to grunt at the end of sentences, like a favorite fictional character.
“We were thrilled when our daughter started watching Peppa Pig because we thought she would pick up a great British accent. But all she learned was to grunt like a pig, ”complained one American couple.
Others are not very happy that their 2-year-old child, who "has never been outside of Washington, Oregon and California, now has a confident British accent."
