The beauty industry in the United States is legendary. After all, the prices for salon services are simply exorbitant, and the result that the client receives is very unpredictable, writes the author of the blog "Happy in America" on Yandex Zen.
Yes, today I cut my hair and it makes me happy. I found a Russian-speaking master in one of the many Facebook groups and am incredibly happy with the result.
That is, I want to say that I absolutely agree with those who believe that you should turn to your former compatriots for quality services in the field of beauty and personal care.
I'm not one of those girls who constantly take care of themselves in beauty salons. I do not do manicure, pedicure or other cosmetic procedures for the face and body. And it’s very good - otherwise you can get pretty bad here until you find a suitable master. All I need is a hairdresser and depilatory. And it was these specialists that I found among the Russian-speaking girls.
I have heard a lot about the quality and cost of services from my friends who visit different local salons. Someone goes to dye their hair - whole strands remain unpainted or the color gives off yellow. And the prices for such beauty are sky-high.

I cut my hair only once at the local barbershop - and it ended up like “trimming the ends”. After that I decided not to risk it and wait for a trip to Russia. But now such a trip is not foreseen - I had to look for a master.
I am not ready to give big money for an average level of service and I don’t want to put up with it. And also the unspoken requirement to always leave a tip! That beats me.
It's so good that there are so many beautiful craftswomen from the countries of the former USSR! I don't want cool salons. I can easily do procedures at home. The main thing is that the person is good and suits me according to all criteria.
I don’t know why these services are so bad in the States. One has only to look at what nail designs are offered in local salons - the desire to do something will immediately disappear.

Perhaps this is partly because they do not particularly attach importance to, so to speak, external beauty. People are more relaxed, do not worry about their appearance, go to the store in their pajamas or for coffee.
To be honest, I am not against this either - I hardly do makeup myself, especially in summer. I don't wear heels. And even once she went out in a dressing gown for a parcel!
But I am always for the fact that everything is good in moderation. One thing is not to get hung up on the appearance, not to gloss over or hide any irregularities and imperfections. But it is quite another to be unkempt, unkempt and sloppy. Or receive low-quality services, besides, pay for them.
And the point is not that they cut their hair or paint in an ugly way. Still, beauty is a relative concept. But when at home you have to trim crooked hair or remove the varnish remaining on your fingers, this already speaks not of beauty, but of professionalism.
