Kobzon’s first wife was singer Veronika Kruglova. They met at a concert, nothing foretold a serious development of events, because Kruglova was in a relationship. However, Joseph was persistent and conquered the enviable beauty and singer of the hit "Top-Top Stomping Baby." Veronica herself recalled that for a long time their relationship with Joseph Davydovich was rather strange, the singer had to literally take the barricades, Veronika was so unapproachable. But Joseph went on an unusual step - as if by chance he had dropped the phrase that they were marrying Veronika. So he made an offer - through third parties.
As a result, they got married, but both were not rich then and were huddled in a 14-meter room in a communal apartment in the area of the Carriage Series. The life of the young did not work out almost immediately. It was the imperious and uncompromising mother of Joseph Ida who was to blame.
After many years, Veronika Kruglova told me that her mother-in-law often visited him and Joseph in a small room, and slept with them on the same sofa, but did not forget to reproach her daughter-in-law with the fact that she did wrong housekeeping.
But lovers kept to the last and even became parents, but a tragedy happened. Veronika got pregnant, was carrying a baby very hard, and as a result, the baby died during the birth itself. Kruglova, too, barely scrambled out, she began to have sepsis, and the doctors miraculously saved the singer. After going through all these trials, Joseph and Veronica still divorced.
Kobzon’s next wife was an even brighter star - Lyudmila Gurchenko.

The enraged actress, having learned about everything, sent a telegram to her husband (Gurchenko was away on the set).

They met at one of the concerts (not Kobzon), began to communicate, and after six months signed. Joseph was hard to resist such a blond, slender beauty, and Nellie did not think to break the comedy.
For the sake of her husband, she abandoned her own career and was glad to become a support for her husband. At first she accompanied him on all trips, sometimes she even cooked him on the train. And by the way, the trains were not the worst place for, so to speak, temporary accommodation, because the distances for travel were sometimes impressive.
After the wedding, young people had no place to live, Kobzon did not get his home yet. Rescued a family friend, a doctor. He gave the spouses a separate chamber, which became for some time a real home for Joseph and Nellie.
Later they had their own home, family, and their own problems. With my mother, Nellie immediately found a common language, so that she had reliable support. But her husband did not stop to look at the beautiful women. During the Olympics in Moscow, Nelly even left her husband after learning of his serious romance on the side. But then the singer suddenly came down because of the strongest sciatica. Nellie took pity and forgiven and since then has tried to forget about jealousy.
"In the life of any person there are hobbies, but I tried to close my eyes to things for something more," she said.
The result of such a wise position was a happy family life, 47 long, son Andrey, and daughter Natalya, as well as 10 grandchildren.
To all of them, he was remembered by a strict but just and loving grandfather and father. Well, for Nellie he became a lifetime, and she fought for him to the last. For the first time, Kobzon was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of 2000, he almost gave up, but his wife was determined to fight and for so many years helped him fight this terrible disease.
“46 years continues my love and devotion to my wife Nelly,” Kobzon so gently spoke about his beloved wife.
