How do housekeepers now relate to the owners? How much do they like to associate their lives with other people's families, which Goncharov's servants so treasured? Photographer Lee-mi-yang talks about people whose stories remain a secret not only for the government, but sometimes even for their own employers.
As Ivan Goncharov wrote, nobody was in the business of the Oblomovs, not even Oblomov himself - “only the gray-haired servants of the house kept and gave each other the true memory of the past, treating it like a shrine”, Ruspult.
The era of famous noble families has long passed, but the servants remained. Most of them are inhabitants of the gray economy, bypassing the law. Housekeepers enter the 38 of millions of Russians, about which Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said, they are busy “it is not clear where and by what”.
