How to do a spring cleaning throughout the house and not lose your mind

General cleaning and shine throughout your home seems like a daunting task, but only if you don't have a plan of action. We've put together a detailed plan for effective cleaning - give each room a separate day (not necessarily the whole) - and in a week, even those corners that you prefer not to think about will shine.
1. Attic
Start cleaning the house from the very top, writes Delfi Dekor with reference to Family Handyman. Typically, the attic is not used every day, but this does not mean that you can give it a hand. Take away all the cobwebs, sweep away all the dust. Divide all things into groups (for example, Christmas decorations, old clothes, an archive). If possible, install inexpensive storage racks, if not, put things in separate boxes and sign them so that it will be easier for you to find everything later.
2. Bedrooms
Remove bedding, including a mattress cover. Wash laundry and vacuum clean pillows and mattress at least. Empty all the boxes and put together in a pile the clothes that you no longer wear. Wipe the dust in all drawers, from fans, air conditioners and fixtures. Wash the windows, wipe the blinds. Fold things back into your closet by category: tops, pants, underwear, sweaters, etc. Vacuum the last thing to collect all the dust on the floor, and wash the floors at the end of the cleaning.
3. Bathroom
Soda and vinegar will help you clean your bathroom. To get rid of limescale on the shower head, put a bag of vinegar on it, dress it with an elastic band and leave it overnight. The next day, rinse the shower head with water, and it will shine and work like new. Then clean the toilets, do not forget about the drain handle and the tank - they can be treated with a disinfectant spray. Clean the sink and finally wash the floors.

4. Living room
Start by removing stains and marks on the walls, take pictures, mirrors, photo frames to wipe dust off them and clean the glass. Unload the coffee table, wipe the dust. Throw away old magazines, mail, newspapers. Move chairs, sofa, vacuum between the pillows. If you have animals that molt, then go through the upholstery with a sticky roller. Take the carpets outside and knock them out well. Remove and wash curtains and curtains.
5. Kitchen
Unload and disinfect the refrigerator, discard any expired, old, and unusable products. If there is an unpleasant odor in the dishwasher, clean it of food debris and run one cycle with the detergent without dishes.
To clean the microwave, put a cup of water in it, a few slices of lemon and a couple of tablespoons of vinegar. Turn on the microwave for a couple of minutes and let it cool. This will facilitate the removal of old dirt from the inside.
6. Garage
Even if your garage is littered with trash, then do not despair. Pull out all the things and choose what to leave and what to donate to charity, sell or throw away. This may take some time, but relax - give yourself one weekend for everything, and take unnecessary things to a charity center on the same day. Take photos of the things you want to sell and place an ad on the Internet. Then put things in place. When you have put things in order, inspect the floor of the garage for rust or oil stains, and if possible, remove them. Then sweep the floor and flush it with a hose.

7. Basement
The basement, like the attic, is usually used to store things, and most often unnecessary ones. Use racks, boxes, and baskets to keep things in order. Delicate items are best stored in tightly closed containers and not on the floor to prevent damage from moisture. Vacuum the floor and treat it with a solution of water and bleach to destroy mold and rot. Be sure to wear a mask to protect yourself from toxic fumes. Allow the floor to dry and wipe it with soap and water. By the way, if the washing machine is in your basement, then take care of it - run the wash cycle without clothes with a special anti-mildew, and then leave the machine door open so that it dries inside faster.
