Thomas still sometimes wonders how he decided to travel from the USA to China. The adventure is pure water! Especially since he had not committed such madness before. Thomas is from those American families that live a simple American dream: to graduate from college, find a good job, marry a classmate, have children, buy a house in the suburbs and look after flowers on the front lawn. Thomas's parents are simple people, everything they could have invested in their son. He received two educations - economic and pedagogical. Before meeting Inna, he traveled a lot around the world and taught English, then opened a pizzeria in his hometown. Life was going on, like on the notes played, until Inna burst into her in a whirlwind.
“You know, in America they look at Russian girls with caution: they have a bad reputation,” he says. “Therefore, at first, I didn’t tell my parents about Inna at all, but when I finally decided, we had a serious conversation. However, I am an adult man, and the choice is mine.
Upon arrival in China, Thomas settled in the same hostel as the beloved. In Changchun, he spent a week. All this time, they walked around the city together, went to museums, cafes — in a word, they never parted for a minute.
“When I returned home, I felt a wild emptiness inside,” admits the American. “I understand, I can't live without her anymore.”
And a month later, on Inna’s birthday, he flew to China again - this time to stay.
And they lived happily ever after
“In Phoenix, I sold the restaurant, paid off the loans, and finally completed the work,” says the American. - He threw everything to be close to Inna. The decision, of course, was not easy, but I knew why I made such sacrifices. I wanted to be happy!
In Celestial, American began life from scratch. And, by the way, he quickly adapted to new realities. I found a job before moving to China. Inna taught at the university, which she graduated from, to Chinese, Russian, and he in a private school English. Native speakers are always valued higher, especially in the Middle Kingdom. In China, the couple lived 4 of the year. A year ago, the young decided to again throw a fortune challenge: they threw everything and moved to Russia, to Inna’s small homeland - in Ulan-Ude.
“China has a very bad environment, especially in Changchun, where we lived.” And we wanted healthy children! - say spouses.
Having moved to Buryatia, lovers immediately opened their own business - a language school. Thomas is her director and teacher. He teaches adults and children English. The institution is very popular, because in Russia the demand for native speakers is great.
Wedding Inna and Thomas played there, in Ulan-Ude. Once the family is international, then the celebration too. Inna is a Buryat, therefore, in addition to the traditional snow-white bridesmaid dress, the national costume was also sewn for her - degela (bathrobes - Comm.). And for Thomas too!
- The wedding was big and noisy. As it should be according to the Buryat traditions, they invited all-all relatives and friends, Inna says. - It is a pity that the parents of Thomas could not come. By the way, I still do not personally know them. We communicate while only on Skype.
But now the reason to visit the city of Phoenix in a pair of iron: 2 a month ago Inna and Thomas became parents - they had a beautiful son. Grandmother and grandfather from distant America are waiting, will not wait to meet with his grandson.
- Actually, we have five children in our plans! - conclude Holmes. - We want a large and friendly family.
