And not the usual manager from Novgorod, Peter or Tyumen, says Rambler. Foreigners entered the Russian “market of brides”, and a new subspecies of the epistolary genre bloomed with a terry color on the Internet - letters in clumsy, passed through an online Russian translator ...
Love inadvertently
Strictly speaking, the love story of the journalist "Stork on the Roof" began with a strange letter received in the popular social network, signed: "Brigadier General Monica." The female name of the top officer, of course, was embarrassing ... However, since the message was clearly processed by an online translator, one could assume a translation error. But, anyway, the letter read:
"Good day! I chose the interest on you through the profile and found it necessary to write. I am 47 years old, I lost my wife three years ago through a car accident. I work as a brigadier general in Afghanistan for a peacekeeping mission. My retirement is very soon, I am in search of a woman for a serious relationship. Could you write to me and make a good acquaintance "...
The correspondence caused a smile and a desire to make friends tell about the story about him, but after a few hours a few more calls for an acquaintance arrived, and this gave rise to the question: why would the marriage crooks suddenly come at me, as if by agreement?
In fact, fraudsters who throw money on money are usually called scammers on the Internet, from English scum - foam, scum, scum. From here and the name of the sites where women who fall for the bait tell their sad stories - Fake-Scam, which, in fact, does not need to be translated.
Looking at a couple of such resources, it is easy to notice: the content of posts reporting about American “fiancés” is about the same, that is, swindlers act according to a single, common to all and, by the way, quite simple scheme. It was not clear that why so many Russian women bite at such a frank one?
Having decided to conduct my own “investigative experiment”, I sent out answers to all the “generals” who were interested in me. So, seven of my love stories started and began to develop rapidly.
True, my fans responded to the suggestions to chat in skype because of the nature of the service they do not have the right to use their personal laptops, and it’s simply inconvenient to confess their love from headquarters, but demonstrating feelings, the “generals” threw their “bride” with letters containing:
- passionate confessions: “I am happy, hanni! I met a special woman like a harp, and now I know that when I leave the service I will have a beautiful wife ”;
- unequivocal promises: “I have a big house in the state of California, but if you don’t want to live in the USA, I’m ready to sell my house for 500 million dollars and live with you in your country”;
- pressure on pity: “I’m a widower, I have a biological daughter and another adopted child, who for some reason still lives in a refugee camp. They both really need a mother ”;
- photographs in which a handsome “groom” hugs children, bathes in the ocean and plays basketball with a group of tall soldiers ...
In general, everything was like a fairy tale. For the whole one and a half months. And then we sent completely different letters, and since they all turned out to be about the same, we confine ourselves to correspondence with "General Monica."
What should I give them to build
After reporting that a week later he was returning from the “hot Afghan point” to the United States and had already sent a petition for a “visa of the bride” for his “hanny,” Monica decided to reveal his biggest secret. It turns out that during one of the military operations he got a case with a million dollars belonging to a certain drug dealer.
But it’s impossible to take this wealth with you to the USA with all the desire - there is an extremely strict fiscal system, so you have to pay a draconian tax from the imported amount, and there is almost nothing left from a million ... However, according to the “general” same there. Having learned that everything in Russia is much simpler with such things, he turned to the courier service, which handles wedding gifts to the brides.
And this is done in just a couple of days. Unless, of course, to pay for express service, and this service is ridiculously inexpensive, some 5,5 thousand euros! It is only necessary to transfer this amount to the specified account, and the suitcase with a million special flight will be delivered right home to his “hanny” ...
To explain that the meager salary does not allow spending this kind of money even for the sake of great and pure love, “General Monica” reacted unexpectedly:
“Honey, I will make you a rich woman. But now I myself need help. During the war my car was shot at. I'm seriously injured, I'm in the hospital. And for the operation, without which I can die, I have to pay. The treatment will cost three thousand dollars. I hope that you will transfer this money to me at the expense of the hospital in which I am lying without medical care. ”
So, the amount has decreased by almost half. But her "bride" was not there. Then the following letter came:
“Honey, I have another misfortune. My daughter, who, while I was in service in Afghanistan, is in a paid boarding house, was on the street, because I didn’t transfer payment for her maintenance due to military operations. The poor girl sleeps in a box on the outskirts of the city. Please transfer thousands of dollars to 2,7 in her name so she can return to the guesthouse. ”
Since the variants of the request letters were known to me by posts on Fake-Scam, it was possible to leave the game ...
Taste free cheese
In the weeks that lingered virtual romances with the “generals” continued, many new tearful stories have accumulated on the anti-forum forums. Can this miserable help? Those who have already suffered are unlikely. The rest - it is possible, if you often tell the media that “loving American generals” after checking their IP addresses are, as a rule, mediocre guys from Nigeria. By the way, not only Russian women come across the bait of African swindlers.
Not so long ago, Australian Jan Marshal told a similar disaster in her blog, which the scammer threw in thousands of dollars for 250. Under her publication, immediately appeared dozens of comments of Pole victims from Scammers, Ukrainians, Bulgarians, and even residents of quite prosperous Germany ...
In fairness, it should be said: not all, after reading the confessions of deceived women, feel pity for them. They write and such:
“Nobody but you are to blame for what happened! What were you hoping for? As I understand it, you were driven by a stupid desire to get married. And now you shout to the whole world: “Save! Help!". Yes, money is definitely a pity. But remember Gleb Zheglov from all of us favorite movie. He said: "Punishment without guilt does not happen." And who is to blame for what happened to you is as clear as day. ”...
Apparently, it was written by a man, confident that such a disaster would not threaten him. But he is very mistaken. At one of the men's forums the other day, a warning was issued by a Petersburger who corresponded for several weeks with the "daughter of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire."
The young beauty, inflamed to him with passionate love, even intended to move to live in Russia. But her plans failed, as the "papa-minister" suddenly went bankrupt and could not allocate her daughter four thousand dollars for a ticket.
The money was sent to her "lover" immediately, but it is not difficult to guess what happened next.
And the question arises: are there ways to fight this evil?
Today, unfortunately, almost none. After confirming this after thoroughly studying the articles of the Criminal Code, I finally decided to play with “General Monica” and told him that I would help his poor daughter, but he should know the whole truth about me.
I have three sons, two daughters, seven cats and a few dogs that my good heart will not allow to leave in Russia. Therefore, I can move to America only by taking with me all the children and animals close to me.
The answer came immediately, and in it, after specifying the account number to which I should have transferred the money, there was a postscript: “I am happy, Hanni, that you know how to love your family so much, and are ready to buy a very big house so that there is enough room for all of us ".
It sounded immensely touching. But, since the virtual novels were over, I had only the last time to open the photo of "Monica". Tightened into a general's uniform, he smiled so sincerely that a sad sigh came out of me: what if it was the same “real” love, and I passed my own happiness? ..
